Today’s Scripture

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you” (Psalm 32:8).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you need direction in your life today? Maybe you are facing an important decision in your job, at home, or in your relationships. Know this: God, Himself, will teach you what you should do. He promises to show you the path you should take.

He’s watching over you and giving you advice every step of the way. See, God’s not just concerned with the goal, or end result. It’s not just about getting you from point “A” to point “B.” He is with you every step of the way during the entire process. He wants to see your character develop and mature. Most times, our growth in life happens when circumstances seem to be the most uncertain. Those uncertain times cause us to rely more on God. No matter how uncertain things may seem, God still has His eye on you. He’s making sure you make the right choices. He’s working with you to shape your character and attitude.

Remember, He’s promised to never leave you or forsake you. You may not always know the answer right away, but He’s instructing you and teaching you and leading you into blessing all the days of your life.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for teaching and guiding me and giving me direction in my life. I receive Your counsel today. Help me to be more like You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today’s Scripture

“Set your mind and heart to seek (inquire of and require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God.” (I Chronicles 22:19 AMP).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

What things do you consider a vital necessity in your life? What can’t you live without? Most people would immediately think of food, water, and shelter, but in reality, we can’t really live unless our minds and hearts are set on seeking the Lord.

Sure, you can exist without seeking Him, but you are called to more than just mere existence. You are called to live…to thrive…to enjoy your life abundantly! The good news is that you have complete control over what you set your mind and heart on. You decide what you think about. I encourage you today; set your mind and heart on seeking the Lord! Write down your favorite scriptures and commit them to memory.

Whenever you can, think about those verses. Meditate on God and His infinite love. Make a habit of seeking Him and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. When you require the Lord as a vital necessity, you will truly enjoy living the abundant life He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, today I choose to set my mind on You. I seek You with my whole heart. Show me your love and character today. Show me Your ways that I may walk and live closely with you. I love you. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Do You Want Inner Peace?

Nope, It Doesn’t Just Come From Being Quiet, Spa Treatments, Meditation, and Breathing Exercises.

Let Me Tell You How You Can Have Inner Peace

No Matter How Busy You Are…

I have a crazy schedule.

But despite this, I do enjoy inner peace.

By the end of this article, I’ll share with you the secret to my inner peace, and how you too can enjoy it—no matter how busy you are.

But first, let me give you an idea of how insane my schedule is.

I’m writing this article in a train.

Crossing through Switzerland.

Yesterday, I was in Scotland.

The day before, England.

In the next four months, I’m flying to Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Macau, Israel, Jordan, US, and Canada.

Sometimes, I pinch myself.

This traveling stuff is what I see James Bond do in his movies.

But I’m no Secret Agent.

I’m a simple servant of God.

And unlike 007, I didn’t shoot anyone or stop a super villain from annihilating the world. All I did was care for people. I told them stories of God’s love. (Some call what I do preaching. I just call it “happy storytelling”.)

And here’s the secret of my inner peace….

My Secret To Inner Peace Is Having “The Reason” For Everything I Do

James Bond has a license to kill.

I have a license to care.

Sorry for being corny, but that’s what I really do.

The stuff I do is as varied as the shoes of Imelda.

But they all come from one powerful source, which I call “The Reason”.

This is “The Reason” why I travel around the world.

This is “The Reason” why I got married and have kids.

This is “The Reason” why I write books and publish mags.

This is “The Reason” why I broadcast on TV and Radio.

This is “The Reason” why I start organizations.

This is “The Reason” why I serve the poorest of the poor.

This is “The Reason” why I run businesses and do investments.

What is The Reason? I care for people.

Caring for people is the reason for my daily life.

It’s the reason for every thing that I do.

Don’t Bow To Me Yet; I Fail As Much As You Do!

Before you think of bowing to me, canonizing me a saint, and cutting my hair for holy relics, let me make one thing very clear: I don’t always think this way.

I get selfish.

I get grouchy.

I get lazy.

I get mean.

Oh man, God knows how much I fail.

And whenever I do something out of selfishness—I feel a disturbance within. Something isn’t right. Like a jigsaw puzzle with a missing piece. This disquiet, this un-peace, this chaos, pokes me within and tells me that I’ve lost my God-ordained path. That I’ve lost my destiny.

Believe me. Inner peace doesn’t come from being quiet, having spa treatments, meditations, and breathing exercises—as good as all these are. The peace we feel from these activities will all be short-lived.

Here’s where real inner peace comes from…

You Need Soul Alignment—

The Only Thing That Can Give You Inner Peace

Real Inner peace comes from what I call Soul Alignment.

That means your life—which consists of your actions, words, and thoughts—are aligned to the ultimate purpose of your soul. That ultimate purpose has been written by God in every fiber and DNA of your soul.

That ultimate purpose is to love.

Bottom-line, Soul Alignment means aligning yourself to God’s love.

No wonder Jesus said that the greatest commandment is this: Love one another as I have loved you.

And when you have Soul Alignment, you have inner peace.

By: Joel Osteen

There are all kinds of voices and thoughts we can tune in to each day. Just like a radio station, there are hundreds of different frequencies that are available. There is the negative frequency that says, “You’ll never accomplish your dreams”, “You’ll never get well”, “You’ll never get married.” Then, there is the “Voice of Victory” frequency.

The “Voice of Victory” is found in God’s Word. It says, “You are blessed.” “You are prosperous”, “You can do all things”, “Your best days are still ahead”. Despite the many voices you hear today, the key is to keep the negative voices from getting deposited into your spirit.

The scripture says in Philippians 4:8 to “Think on things that are pure, things that are wholesome, things that are of a good report.” When you latch on to the “Voice of Victory” and let these faith-filled thoughts take deep root in your heart, your faith will produce a positive harvest, and you will live that victorious life!

Today’s Scripture

“How good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity…for there the Lord has commanded the blessing…” (Psalm 133:1-3).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

God loves you so much. He longs to bless you in every area of your life. Deuteronomy says that He wants to bless you when you come in, and when you go out. He wants to bless you when you’re in the city, and bless you when you’re in the country.

He wants to bless and prosper everything you set your hand to. When you are living in peace and unity with the people in your life, you are positioning yourself for God’s blessing. Living in unity doesn’t mean you always have to agree with everyone. It means that you look for common ground and refuse to allow strife to enter into your relationships. Choose today to focus on the things that bring you together.

Focus on your faith in God and dependence on His Word. As you live in unity God will pour out His favor and blessing in your life and you will live the abundant life He has planed for you.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of blessing in my life. I choose Your ways today and ask that You help me live in unity with the people in my life. Thank You for leading me guiding me in all things. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling…. Zechariah 12:2

In his bid for the American presidency Senator John McCain earned himself headlines in Israel when he said, “I support Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.”

As one newspaper reported: “Professing support for Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, though it is not internationally recognized as such, has become a time-honored political tradition for U.S. presidents and would-be presidents. Since the Jerusalem Embassy Act passed Congress in 1995, moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem has been the official policy of the United States. And yet, every six months, the president signs a waiver that says, “[My] Administration remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem.” It never happens, for the obvious reason that the move would cause an unprececdented uproar in the Arab world.

As the Christian Science Monitor put it, “Israeli government officials are also quick to point out that East Jerusalem, formally annexed by Israel in 1980, is by Israeli law part of the nation’s capital. But that annexation was not recognized by most of the international community, the U.S. included. ”You would think, “Who cares?” I’ll tell you who cares–about 5 million Jews and more than 100 million Arabs, both of whom have a definite opinion about the matter.

It’s part of an old feud that goes back for hundreds of years. Both feel that they are the rightful heirs of the city of Jerusalem, and neither is willing to give on the issue. If occupying the territory has anything to do with who controls it, then Israel has an advantage.

Their claim to the city goes back to King David, who took it from the Jebusites and made it his capital. Until the Romans took the city in 70 A.D., it essentially belonged to the Israelis. In recognition of the fact it was the historic capital of Israel, the American Congress wants to move their embassy there.

But–and here’s where the issue gets sticky–in the year 637 A.D. Jerusalem was overthrown by Muslims who began building the Mosque of Omar on the Dome of the Rock–the very site of the Jewish temple, the same place where Abraham had offered his son Isaac long before.

Jews were forbidden to sep foot on the site, and began to pray for the Holy City. The Jewish Passover worship would include the refrain, “Next year in Jerusalem… next year in Jerusalem!”

In 1917, the British General Allenby wrestled the city from the Turks, with the flourish of a Prince of God who was doing what the Crusaders never fully did. Zechariah, a fifth century B.C. prophet, spoke of Jerusalem as “an immovable rock for all the nations” and said, “All who try to move it will injure themselves” (Zechariah 12:3). He prophesied, “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that send all the surrounding peoples reeling” (12:2).

I don’t know whether the folks intent on moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem know what Zechariah predicted, which probably is yet in the future, but this I do know. What God has said in His Word will take place with unerring and painful accuracy, and it says clearly that in the end times, Jerusalem will figure large in the geographic and political scenario.

This is not to suggest that moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem is part of the fulfillment of prophecy, but it is to say that the events of the past, beginning with the establishment of the modern state of Israel on May 14, 1948, have taken place with a rapidity and certainty never before seen in history. Think about.

Today’s Scripture

“Whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is kind, if there is any virtue, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria

What you think about determines the quality and direction of your life. Naturally, people who think positive, uplifting thoughts have happier, healthier, longer lives. They are less stressed, more vibrant and enjoy better sleep.

That’s why the scripture encourages us to think on good things—things that are true, noble and lovely. Some translations say to “fix your mind” on them. When you fix your mind on noble things, you close the door to the negative voices and open your heart to allow God to work in your life. Choose today to fix your mind on good things.

Do whatever you need to in order to keep those good thoughts before you. Write them on note cards and put them in a place where you can see them. Confess God’s promises over your life and declare His blessing on a daily basis.

As you fix your mind on the goodness of God, you will rise higher in every area of your life. You will be filled with His peace and victory, and you’ll see every dream and desire in your heart come to pass.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, I choose to fix my mind on noble things. I choose thoughts of peace and victory. Fill my heart with Your goodness that I may glorify You in everything I do. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
